Help and Support
Annulla's Directory of BookCrossing Support Sites and Groups
Annulla has compiled a listing of all of the support sites that she knows about. It's a wonderful
resource, and I highly recommend it. If you know of a site that is not listed, you can post a note in the announcement forum for her.
Cliff1976's Book Wish List Site
Cliff's site allows us to set up a wish list of books we want to read. He also gives us a code to insert into our bookshelf profile. He includes clear directions on how
to make all of this work.
BC Official BookCrossing Zones and WebRing
Nyisutter gives us a well organized list of Official BookCrossing Zones as well as all BC
related sites. I would suggest that when you leave here, you go straight to her site.
Wait, not yet, finish reading these first. I may have one listed that she overlooked.
You certainly don't want to take a chance on missing a good link, do you?
Euro BC
Marco has a wonderful site for European members who are more comfortable in their native language. When last I checked, he had sections for Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, and France.
I haven't delved into the site too deeply, but I believe he has the labels, bookmarks, and other information in the various languages, as well as some great stuff in English.
Spanish Mirror Site
This site is a reproduction of the BookCrossing site, except in Spanish.
German Support Site
BookCrosser Wyando, with help from other bookcrossers, has translated many of the faq's on the TexasWren site into German. He has also added things relevant to the German BC experience.
Dutch Support Site
Wyando has now translated some of the TexasWren faq's into Dutch, and, working with other members, has added information relevant to Dutch BC'ing.
Malaysian BookCrossers
Auntyjo, Babyimran, and WittySquirrel have started a group for Malaysian BookCrossers.
Temporary BookRelay
The former site called BookRelay has been closed down. As I write this, (February 2007), members are using this temporary forum to do book relays. They have picked up a version of relay used in chit chat
in the early days of relays. They are working on a more permanent solution, and as I have more info, I will post it here.
Book Rays and Rings
BookRayGirl has taken on the challenge of keeping track of open Book rays and rings. Most of these originate on the Wish List forum, but sometimes it's hard to find time to read them all. A daily check of this site can help ensure that you don't miss a good one. Of course, it isn't a substitute for the wish list forums, since some of the best rings fill up before they have time to get here. However, check it out. It's a great resource!
Jazzy7112's Successful Release Locations
Jazzy7112 has undertaken the enormous job of recording the places in the USA and Canada that have been the sites of successful releases. This is going to be such a useful resource when trying to think up someplace to release a book. If someone has had a book caught and journaled once, that seems to indicate that BC type people frequent that spot. Good idea Jazzy!
Books With Wings
Ecoboy has a cute page of book related drawings. Be sure to scroll down the page and click on the thumbnails for the total effect! It's an interesting site otherwise too.
TalkinTexan
BC member, and author, TalkinTexan, has a site full of funny and interesting things related to Texas. Read, learn, and laugh.
North Mesquite Class of '71
Ok, this isn't related to BookCrossing, it is my site for my high school class-North Mesquite, (Texas). We are always searching for lost classmates, and with so many BookCrossers in the world, I couldn't pass up a chance that one of them will be--or will know- someone in my class. If you are--or know--someone from the class of 1972 or 1973, I can probably connect you with your classmates, too.
This page is a work in progress. Please stay tuned while I add more links as time permits.
