When this card arrives in the recipient's mailbox, it will show your personal e-mail address. If you prefer to
avoid this, I have a workaround in place. This will also work if you do not know the recipient's address.
Step 1. In the space for your e-mail address, use the following address:
posty@texaswren.com
instead of
your own address.
Step 2. If you don't know the recipient's real address, and prefer to cut and paste the card pickup code
into a PM, put the posty address in the recipient's address too.
Step 3. After you click "send", you will see a page with a 15 digit card code. Copy the 15 digit card number
and paste this into a PM to the recipient. Tell them to come to http://www.texaswren.com/posty/cards.html and
paste the 15 digit code in the pick up box.
Here's a sample PM that you can just cut and paste. I highly recommend that you cut and paste the card ID
number too, since transposing just one number will prevent the card from being picked up.
You have been sent a Posty from Wren's Postys!! To view this card, go to:
http://www.texaswren.com/posty/cards.html and enter this 15 digit code number into the pick up box.
Enjoy!!
And, that's it. A few points-you can still use your own e-mail address, and the card will be sent in the normal
manner. If you use the posty address, you will not receive a notice that the card was received. All of the
notices will go directly to the posty address, and I won't be checking them. For the moment, I will delete
them each week. Once I see that the system is working, they will be sent directly into the bulk folder for
automatic deletion after a brief interval. |
