Grorser Mojosmom "I'm nominating Grorser. I've mentioned in the forums occasionally about my interest in bookbinding. Recently, Canadian postal rates went up, and in purchasing new stamps Grorser discovered that there is a 1 cent issue that is a tribute to bookbinding. So I received a PM, out of the blue, offering to send me a sheet of the stamps! I was struck not only with their generosity, but the fact that they had filed that little detail about my life in their memory, to pop out at just the right moment! So nice ;-)" -Mojosmom-
Weirdwong Silentdormouse "I was winged by Weirdwong for the month of March. I know that they also winged a few others. What a nice thing to do!!! I only hope that when I get a job I can do the same for others..." -Silentdormouse-
Sissyrun Delecia "I had only been a bookcrosser for a short while and it was so fabulous that Sissyrun sent me "The Cat Who Saw Stars". I read it real fast and set it free. To be new and get something free so soon was really great!!" -Delicia-
WeirdWong Loves2readalot "Weirdwong winged me!" -Loves2readalot-

Kiki7670 "Hi there Texaswren I'm Kiki7670 from bookcrossing. I read about your collecting info about kind deeds done by BC'ers, and I checked out your web page. I felt that I had to share one of my experiences with you.
As you've probably read in the forum, my dearest friend Moocgw passed away in the end of January. A friend Tmoke, started a thread requesting releases in his honor, the response was overwhelming and I've shed many a tear reading the responses.
Lizabeth86 released RABCK's throughout the month of February in his honor, and I was fortunate to catch one. It was a beautiful gesture, touched me deeply.
I am writing to tell you about another member, who has become a valued friend to me. Hero, a fellow BC'er, offered to gather up all of the information on the releases made in Moocgw's honor, and pass it on to me. This way, the info would be easier for me to pass along to his mother. She released one of the Lord of The Rings in his honor, upon reading this I told her how he and I were supposed to have a marathon Valentine's weekend. Upon finding this out, she offered to send me all three books, one a month, in his memory; this way I'd be able to read the story he wanted to share with me. He loved the books, and they were his favorite movies. Her gesture has touched my heart. While nothing can fill the void in my life his death has left, her actions have warmed my heart. As a result of all of this, I have gained a wonderful pen pal and friend. When I read of your request for acts of kindness, I was compelled to share my experience with you.
Yes, you can use my name and story. I don't feel the desire to not share this story with other members. These kinds gestures have helped me hold onto my faith in mankind's generosity. Thanks for taking the time to read my story. Take care/God bless." -Kiki7670
LOGOphelia ALIVE "LOGOphelia gave me wings when I was going through difficult times. She also wrote me such a kind an uplifting pm.She is what gives bookcrossing its good name." -ALIVE-
RyanReader ALIVE Ryanreader sent me a message shortly after I sent her a welcome pm.She wanted to RABAK me for sending her that message. I haven't been able to take her up on it as yet, because I'm behind in my reading. She too, shows what good stuff bookcrossers are made of." -ALIVE-
GreedyReader Libertine101 " What can I say about this woman? I have gotten to know her a bit better through LiveJournal and find her to be a very funny, smart, and intriguing individual. :) Her generosity amazes me. She recently sent me a package that consisted of a spiral notebook with a black cat motif, a fridge magnet that parodied your President, an amusing postcard ;), and a T-Shirt with "MY bush would make a better president" written on it. LMAO! What a woman! :D" -Libertine101-
Emperor-Fool Libertine101 "We got chatting in a Forum and before I knew it, I was being offered "Poetry for Cats" - a lovely small hardnack book with cute, colourful illustrations. She also sent me a lovely kitty themed card. :) How lovely!" -Libertine101-
Leighspeak Ladyoflight "I would like to tell about yet another act of kindness from a fellow BCer. When I learned about a sequel that I had been eagerly awaiting for many years, I was initially jumping up and down. Then, to my dismay, I could not find the book on any American websites. I only found it on British websites. Then, Leighspeak came to my rescue, offering to buy and ring the book so that people in the U.S. and other countries that don't have a release date planned for the book could enjoy it. Thank you for your kind and generous offer Leighspeak.

(Received later) After sending you my PM, I receive a message from Leighspeak, saying that he/she is sending me a copy of the book, just out of good will because it isn't available in America yet. Just wanted to mention Leighspeak as an embodiment of the BC spirit!" -Ladyoflight-
Libertine101 =^.^= "Libertine101, who was my secret BC Valentine, has reciprocated—which of course she did not have to do!—and mailed, all the way from Australia, a delightful pocket diary. The cutest, and most useful, that I have ever seen. It’s also an address book & a notebook & will come in vary handy. I’d like to acknowledge her thoughtfulness on this RABCK roundup." =^.^=
Bluenoser Owlet "I would like to nominate Bluenoser. It all started with the letter "A"! Bluenoser was about to send (as part of a trade) "A is for Alibi" by Sue Grafton to a bookcrosser in the Netherlands, when she noticed this book on my wishlist and mentioned it to that bookcrosser, who than send it to me. Later, she offered me "C is for Corpse", also in trade, so this is still not for the RABCK round-up. But this is: two days after my birthday I received out of the blue, my very first RABCK! "D is for Deatbeat"! This is my way to say "thank you"!" -Owlet-

(This is Wren. I received this response from Bluenoser, and I thought it was such a gracious response that I wanted to include it.)
"I feel very fortunate, that in the nearly 2 years I've been a BookCrosser, I have only "met" and corresponded with polite, friendly people. I've only met a few face-to-face but I feel so lucky to have found so many new friends from China, Iran , New Zealand, Australia, USA, Europe and here at home in Canada." -Bluenoser-
RoadNotTaken Cestmoi Note from Wren: I received this from Cestmoi in January, but somehow, it got lost in my mailbox shuffle. I apologize to Cestmoi and RoadnotTaken for the oversight.

"Roadnottaken was nice enough to pm me offering two books from my wishlist. The day before my inbox was flooded with many (over 20!) requests for either trades or RABCKS, mostly RABCKS from people I've never heard of. We found out some news about a relative that was upsetting, the gas and electricity bill had arrived with huge rate increases for the new year, we found out our 9 year old will need some major dental work AND Canada Post raised their rates! All this in one day - and my husband hasn't been working for 6 months. So I had made a decision to completely stop - cold turkey - sending out RABCKS and doing trades for about 6 months to get a handle on our new "budget". Well, roadnottaken's pm arrived offering these two books...I fired off a reply - politely worded that I was not doing trades for about six months due to financial reasons and thanked her/him for thinking of me. Roadnottaken pm'ed back that it was a RABCK, they weren't asking for a trade. Well did I ever feel stupid....I re-read the pm I had sent off and although not rude, realised it was very short and abrupt to someone who was trying to be nice to me! Roadnottaken even pm'd me further and still offered the books if I wanted them!!! I know lots of people offer RABCKS but I don't think they expect the kind of reply I sent to roadnottaken so I just wanted to apologise (again!) for letting a bunch of outside stuff cloud my judgement of people and for roadnottaken continuing to be gracious and kind." -Cestmoi-

Richardpalmer Spike1972 ""I would just like to mention Richardpalmer, as he has been kind enough to offer a Biography of Mohamed Ali as a RABCK for no apparent reason (other than me being a newbie I think)." -Spike1972-
Ottawabill "I was the recent recipient of a kindness that was most pleasing .
Taken from BC Forums.

"I love getting parcels, especially unexpected ones.
When I came home yesterday there was a notice from the post office they ahd tried to deliver one while I was at work. I had to wait until today to go and get it. Oh goody....anticipation! Ottawabill likes anticipation.

After lunch I go to the post office. I stand in line. I wait. Ottawabill doesn't like waiting so focuses on anticpation.

The parcel arrives...its from Robert Sabuda. OH MY GAWD. Ottawabill adores Robert Sabuda. It's too big to be the oft hoped for engagement ring and marriage proposal but hey, that has always been the long shot. But i have ordered a book form them and am a tingle at how fast it has come. Ottawabill gets excited at fast deliveries.

BUT WAIT. OH NO. The little tag on the front says "Santa Claus Cards". Ottawabill didn't order Santa Claus cards. Major mixed emotions. there must have been a mix-up. Ottawabill hates mix ups and returning things but loves Robert Sabuda's Santa Claus Cards. I walk back to the office pondering. Ottawabill enjoys pondering.

I can not wait. I tear open the sealed box with a key and fish out the invoice that lays waiting under the most delightful Santa Claus Cards imaginable. Maybe this is Robert Sabuda's way of starting off the sought after marriage proposal? Oh wake-up you silly queen you both have boyfriends, I say to myself. Its a mix-up and they will have to go back I sternly tell myself. Ottawabill likes talking sternly to himself.

Jumping for joy in mid-street! They are a gift, from a fellow bookcrosser! !! How wonderfuly unexpected and delightful and so caring a gift. Clearly someone has taken the time to note my silly obsessions. How thoughtful! ! Thank you so much! I will PM the sender to see if I can reveal her name, but until then THANK YOU- U Know Who! Ottawabill loves getting parcels, especially unexpected ones.

Biamar Realbookworm "I want to put Biamar's name in for the RABCK Roundup this month. She took the time to meet with me to have coffee when I visited Victoria last year and I was pleased to meet such a nice warm friendly individual and know she's another bookcrosser. I look forward to seeing her again on my next trip out there. No, that's not the reason I'm putting her name up. :)

She knows I'm a big Stephen King fan and today I received a parcel from her. She sent me a beautiful like new copy of SK's Cycle of the Werewolf, not asking for anything in trade. Not only that, she didn't bother to register it on bookcrossing because she wanted me to be able to keep it in my private collection without worrying about people asking for it.

That, to me, is a true blue RABCK. I just want her and everyone else to know how much I appreciate it." -Realbookworm-

Lilcoopamber Roadnottaken "I had added Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" to my wishlist a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised when I'd unexpectedly received a copy from Lilcoopamber, in the States. I know that it's not easy (or free) to run to the post office to send books to people you don't know (especially those in other countries) simply because they expressed a wish to read them. That's why I really appreciate gifts like these." -Roadnottaken-
Kitten22 Yvi-1 "Kitten22, knowing my problem with cash right now, sent me postage for the next person on a bookring. Very sweet!" -Yvi-1-
Tchouli Libertine101 "Thanks to the Forums I came across Tchouli. She had the most gorgeous kitty pic on her profile and I had to PM her and let her know. I also checked out her web site and saw that she and I had a fair few interests in common. A few Pmms later and before I knew it, a package landed on my doorstep from her! In it were some suprise rabcks - a book from my wish list, a cute fun cat book, and a book about being vegan that she specifically got for me. Not to mention a cute card to go with the lot! I was in awe! I've been ill lately and this certainly raised my spirits and also reinstated by belief in BCers and the Forums in general. Thanks Tchouli!!" - Libertine101-
Eriko1908 WarEagle78 "What a wonderful Bookcrossing deed!

Eriko1908 PM'd me to offer the second book in the Miss Julia series, Miss Julia Takes Over, when she saw it on my wishlist. I have not read any of the books, and mentioned in my journal entry that the book looked so tempting that it would be hard to wait to read them in order. Then I took off for a 4-day trip to the beach.

When I returned, Eriko1908 had been busy! She ordered me to NOT read the book, then leapt into action. She found another Bookcrosser with an available copy of the first book in the series, arranged for it to be mailed to me, and then announced that the book was on the way. The only caveats were that I read, journal and release the first book, which of course I would have done anyway. And, of course, that I READ THEM IN ORDER!

What Eriko1908 had no way of knowing was that she was one of three BX happenings to lighten a very traumatic 2 days. When I returned from my trip, my dear black kitty Vanna was very ill and I knew she would have to be put to sleep the next day. She had been with me for eighteen years. Eriko1908's kindness brought a smile at a difficult time -- but it would have been an outstanding BX kindness no matter when done. Thanks Eriko1908!" -WarEagle78-

JDT Lise46 "I accepted a relay from JDT recently. She (I think) checked out my bookshelf and noted that I have Crohn’s disease. She sent along what looks like a BRAND NEW copy of “My Grandfather’s Blessings” written by a doctor with Crohn’s. She even marked the chapter that she thought I would most relate to. I am so touched by this – especially because I am in the middle of a bad flare of the disease. This book of hope and strength could not have arrived at a better time!" -Lise46-
Ghir Grover3d "I would love to give a special thank-you to Ghir, who not only sent me a long-wanted book from my wish list, but also included an absolutely gorgeous handmade beaded bracelet in beautiful Spring colors (lime green, aqua and purple, my favorite color). I've been wearing it non-stop and it looks great with my silver jewelry...and makes me feel so Springy. Just another example of the wonderful folks on this site." -Grover3d-
Bookczuk Pennina "I nominate 'Bookczuk' who extended such a long arm of consolation. I only know half a dozen people in England which is hardly a huge network of support when things go awry. Bookczuk seemed to guess exactly without any possibility of foreknowledge what to say and sent a gift which I felt was something dear to her and which I shall treasure." -Pennina-
